“I can say the greatest thing about Cameron isn’t his work ethic, it’s how he thinks. Cameron is not just an excellent craftsman, he’s a poet of built space”
Cameron designed and built some bookcases and a reading nook for us. We got quotes from other contractors. Some lower and some higher but it was clear when my husband and I started asking the others to give us prices for Cameron’s ideas that the job really belonged to him. We were on a deadline to move in to our new home and Cameron sprained his ankle and was unable to start when he planned. But as soon as he could reasonably walk again he worked for days straight without sleep to meet the deadline. I’ve never really seen anyone work that hard for that long. But I can say the greatest thing about Cameron isn’t his work ethic, it’s how he thinks. It was clear what he was doing was deeply personal. He said he was building us memories. He described how he envisioned me reading with my children. How they would grow up, see bookcases and remember me as their mother. How when they’re grown and come back to visit, those memories we still spend together would come flooding back. Later on I had an opportunity to recommend him to build a bench for my kids elementary school. He talked about how he envisioned the kids using the bench as a launch pad to jump from and chase each other. How he built it to make it easier. A few months later I was sitting in my car waiting to pick my kids up from school and began watching kids do exactly that. Words cannot describe the joy I felt in that moment. Cameron is not just an excellent craftsman, he’s a poet of built space.

“I wanted something industrial modern and my wife wanted farmhouse. Cameron somehow managed to meld our styles in a way that made us both happy.”
Cameron and I have been friends for a while. Given his unique skill set as both a builder and designer. It was a no brainer to ask him to help us design and build our tiny house. We had a loose budget and somewhat conflicting style preferences. I wanted something sort of industrial modern and my now wife wanted farmhouse. We also ended up moving to California and arranging to have the process documented by hgtv. Without a plan, Cameron came out and worked 16 hours a day for 3 months, the only day he took off was on his 30th birthday. He some how managed to meld our styles in a way that made us both happy while under the pressure of being filmed. Some of the details he came up with are truly incredible. We asked a lot from him and he always delivered something better than what we were anticipating. We definitely went over budget but there isn’t a single thing I would trade back for the money we spent. It’s truly a work of art and even though we have a regular house now. We still have it and use it often to house guests and even stay in it ourselves just to remember the good ol’ days. I would highly recommend Cameron to anyone who cares about craftsmanship and good design.
